Specimens for Health Advancement Research Enterprise at Denver Health helping to improve drug effectiveness and safety

 

Purpose

Previously known as the Emergency Medicine Specimen Bank (EMSB), the purpose of Specimens for Health Advancement Research Enterprise at Denver Health (SHARE at DH) is to improve drug effectiveness and safety in acute care. SHARE at DH aims to enroll a diverse cohort of patients with acute care conditions.  

Mission

It focuses on understanding differences in patients treated at Denver Health. SHARE at DH has collected over 18,000 blood samples and analyzed data to improve clinical practices.

Characteristics of EM Specimen Bank Participants

 

Specimens for Health Advancement Research Enterprise at Denver Health (SHARE at DH) was developed to facilitate precision medicine in acute care. The SHARE at DH is a biorepository of clinical health data and biospecimens collected from all adults, English, Spanish, Amharic, Nepalese and Vietnamese speaking individuals who are not prisoners and are able and willing to provide consent.  

To do this, we have developed a new system of recruitment that can be done outside the hospital. This is accomplished through MyChart, which is an online portal that lets patients access their medical information, and consent to the study. Patients can enroll in the study whenever it is most convenient for them to do so.

If you are interested in being a part of the study, July 16th is the expected date that MyChart recruitment will go live. After July 16th, you will be able to find information under the research section in MyChart.
